St Pius X Catholic Primary School

This week, the children used watercolours to paint poppies. They tried to keep their painting simple, so that the poppies stood out.  We discussed the symbolism behind the poppy and why letting it stand out on the page was so effective.  It was brilliant to see the children so reflective with their work and showing their respect in such a reverent way. 

What a wonderful evening we had displaying some outstanding pieces of work from across the school. The children should all be immensely proud of everything they have achieved this year! 

Local artist Vicci Button provided a hands-on experience for every class during Arts Week. Children had the opportunity to create props, use digital animation equipment and work collaboratively to create a whole-school animation.
