 On Friday 22nd May 2026, we The Mini Vinnies celebrated World Cultural Diversity Day.  We asked children and parents if they would like to present some interesting facts about their culture and share any traditions,  photos, powerpoints and cultural clothes at our assembly that we held.  We had a lovely time, because everyone got the chance to learn more about so many different cultures.  We could not have done this without the help of some our parents who so kindly gave up their time to come and share their culture with the school in the assembly, Mrs Kenning - Spain, Mrs Prasanna - India, Mrs Stepegeu - Romania and Mrs Tumber who went over and above by arranging for these fabulous parents to come to the school and they put together a powerpoint to present.  Mrs Tumber also brought in clothes for the younger children to try on and musical instruments to play.  We all learnt so much about different cultures, traditions, food and dancing.   Enrichment Day at Chelmsford County High School for Girls Today some of our students from Year 4 and Year 5 were able to experience an exciting day of creative discovery attending an, 'Exploring Languages.' Day at Chelmsford County High School. This enrichment day allowed the girls to participate in a range of challenging and creative activities. This included, Spanish, French and Latin. In Spanish the girls learnt key facts about Columbia, they learnt and used vocabulary for parts of the house in Spanish, and they learnt and used colours in Spanish.  They then transferred all these skills  to making a paper house.  In French, the children learnt key facts about France and the main cities and landmarks, they learnt and  used vocabulary for different foods and drinks and then made their own menus which was very  exciting. We have been celebrating international festivals and languages around the world. Ramadan is an Islamic celebration that starts at the end of February.  My-An shared lots of knowledge such as 'The Qur'an is their special book....they don't have any pictures of Allah.' We linked this to our comprehension skills by retrieving and explaining information about Ramadan. Here's 'Rameena's Ramadan' story. We had an absolutely fabulous day at County High School for Girls, where our Year 4 and 5 girls participated in an incredible curriculum enrichment day, immersing themselves in the captivating world of languages! 🌍💫 🎉📚 Our girls had a blast exploring French, German, and Latin through a range of fun and engaging tasks.  International Languages Day Bonjour! At St Pius we learn French as our Modern Foreign Language. Last week it was lovely to celebrate International Languages Day . Many children speak a different language at home and we spent time sharing greetings in various languages including Polish, Hungarian and Spanish. After researching different greetings on the iPads, we made a display so that we wouldn't forget the various greetings. This week we created posters after working as a class to match flags to their greetings.
