On Friday 22nd May 2026, we The Mini Vinnies celebrated World Cultural Diversity Day. We asked children and parents if they would like to present some interesting facts about their culture and share any traditions, photos, powerpoints and cultural clothes at our assembly that we held. We had a lovely time, because everyone got the chance to learn more about so many different cultures.
We could not have done this without the help of some our parents who so kindly gave up their time to come and share their culture with the school in the assembly, Mrs Kenning - Spain, Mrs Prasanna - India, Mrs Stepegeu - Romania and Mrs Tumber who went over and above by arranging for these fabulous parents to come to the school and they put together a powerpoint to present. Mrs Tumber also brought in clothes for the younger children to try on and musical instruments to play. We all learnt so much about different cultures, traditions, food and dancing. This was such a fun morning. All of the Mini Vinnies enjoyed hosting this event and we look forward to hopefully doing this again.

We thank all the parents who volunteered their time to help us with this event and all the input they gave.
We also thank Shakira and Emma for representing their cultures so well.
Raveena - year 6
We were so grateful for the opportunity to learn more about diversity and cultures around the world and the people that made this happen.
Aurora - Year 6

I presented a powerpoint about my culture from Hong Kong. I learnt traditional dances and I loved dancing to the music. Children were allowed to try on some clothing which they loved doing. We couldn't have done this without Miss Lowrey who co-ordinates the Mini Vinnie Group, Mrs Tumber who arranged the parents that came and presented, Mrs Prasanna, Mrs Kenning and Mrs Stefogeu. The children enjoyed playing with the instruments and dancing with the scarves. We enjoyed hosting and helping the children throughout the assembly
