 International Languages Day


Bonjour!

At St Pius we learn French as our Modern Foreign Language. Last week it was lovely to celebrate International Languages Day. Many children speak a different language at home and we spent time sharing greetings in various languages including Polish, Hungarian and Spanish.







After researching different greetings on the iPads, we made a display so that we wouldn't forget the various greetings. This week we created posters after working as a class to match flags to their greetings. This was fun, active, engaging and led to many discussions about different languages and alphabets.

Another fantastic day at PGL! Despite the weather not playing along, we've embraced the change in schedule with enthusiasm. The children have risen to the occasion, tackling new challenges and making the most of every moment.  All the children have slept well and are enjoying the food on offer! World Book Day 2024

 We were so impressed with the costumes this year!  The children (and staff) made a brilliant effort and this also encourage lots of 'Book talk' throughout the day with children role playing as their character and discussing the stories they were from.  Well done all!
