Coronation celebrations in EYFS

We have been learning all about King Charles III's Coronation. 

The children have enjoyed learning all about the ceremony and some facts about King Charles. The play zones in our classroom have had a coronation theme: 

Coronation paper chains in the fine motor area, red white and blue lego in the construction area, royal figures and a party scene in the small world area and union jack glitter in the malleable area. 

They have made their own crowns, created a keepsake to commemorate the celebrations and played with royal figures in the small world area. They also enjoyed watching clips from the late Queen's coronation. 

The children have really enjoyed learning about this had have created some wonderful work:

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
