A Spectacular Sports Day at St Pius X!
The children across the school had a brilliant day yesterday and we know that it was the highlight of the year for many! After preparing in their PE lessons, the children were ready to compete in their houses to earn points collectively for Sports Day.
It was amazing to see the children demonstrating reciprocity throughout the day by supporting each other and resilience when they were faced with a challenge! We were also very lucky that the sunshine came out for us all day!
"I enjoyed the tug of war; I almost lost my voice! The racing was really fun and even though I lost, I still tried my best." Costa, Year 4
"Sports Day was really fun and lovely. My favourite part was when we began running and jumping - I also really liked the final sprint races!" Emmanuel, Year 4
Of course, it wouldn't be a proper sports day without the adults having a go as well! We were incredibly impressed with how fast and strong some of our parents are!

Overall, the children had an incredible day and should be so proud of everything that they achieved. A special congratulations to St George who came first overall and to the sprint race winners!
"I liked watching the relay race, as it was really fun watching St Andrew make a huge comeback that led to them winning!" Darcie, Year 6
"I really enjoyed watching the sprint races and the tug of war!" Eila, Year 6
Thank you so much to all of the parents and carers who came out to support their children yesterday - it really made the day so much more special for everyone!
A successful Sports Day all round!
