Creative Arts Week 2023!

Creative Arts Week has been full of... creativity!

The Creative Arts include: Art, Dance, Drama and Music.

The Year 5 and 6 Choir started the week off by performing their winning song to the school - amazing acapella!

Year 4 visited the Wisdom Club on Monday and performed songs and hymns to people from our local community.

On Tuesday we were lucky to be visited by a local artist - Sara - from 'Ever So Arty.' She provided exciting workshops based around the artist Bridget Riley's Optical Illusions. Years 5 and 6 even had a turn as Art Teachers, helping KS1 children in their workshops, demonstrating reciprocity and patience! Check out the Tate Kids website for more information, activities and games.

Poppy (Year 4): The optical illusions were cool and confusing. I now have a headache!

Leeya (Year 4): It was really fun making Op Art but the hardest was to draw a 3D star!

Sonny (Year 4): I liked how it looked!

On Wednesday it was Reception's turn to try some Optical Illusion Art with Mrs Griffiths! They enthusiastically got stuck in, decorating hearts using patterns, lines and colour. They also practised their fine motor skills by cutting around their art work. Super work!
