Year 4 Wisdom Club
Last Monday Year 4 visited the Wisdom Club in Langton Avenue. This is a weekly community club providing friendship, support and fun to local residents.
Year 4 did a superb job of entertaining the audience, singing songs from the Easter Production as well as some of their favourite hymns. After some juice and cake, they spent some time chatting and showing the members their favourite school work. This was a great opportunity to connect with our local community.
Pauline, the project coordinator said afterwards:
'The singing was beautiful! The children should be very proud of themselves. I could hear EVERY word, and I was standing at the back. We were very touched by their song all about community, as that is the essence of what the sisters have helped build in Melbourne. It is special to have that sharing of young and ‘older’ in the Melbourne community yesterday. I do hope they will come again soon.'
The Wisdom Club really appreciated having our class come to visit, and Year 4 did us very proud by engaging with them and behaving so well - so well in fact, they have asked us to visit again!
Eneojo: 'At the Wisdom Club I enjoyed meeting new people and talking to them. I also enjoyed singing with the whole class. We also had a drink with some cake!'
Lauren: 'I enjoyed talking to new people and showing them my French book.'
Lilly: 'It was amazing; my favourite song was Hosanna.'
