Viking Dragon Art in Year 5

I am thrilled to share the amazing dragon eye art created by our talented Year 5 students as the exit point for our International Primary Curriculum (IPC) unit, "The Great the Bold and the Brave." 🎨🐲

👀 Behold the intricate and mesmerising dragon eyes, intricately moulded from clay! Our students poured their creativity and imagination into crafting these stunning pieces, drawing inspiration from the unit's exploration of legendary heroes and mythical creatures from Norse mythology. Vikings believed Dragon symbolism would bring good fortune for their raids in Britain and would decorate their long ships with dragon heads; our pupils created their own dragon eyes using clay and paint.

The process was not just about art, but also about storytelling and character building. Each student imagined the dragon to whom the eye belonged, weaving tales of daring adventure . 📚✨

Through this hands-on activity, our students delved into the world of mythology, honing their fine motor skills and fostering their understanding of symbolism in storytelling. It's incredible to see how art can ignite the spark of curiosity and learning! 🔥

We're incredibly proud of our Year 5 pupils for their dedication and enthusiasm in bringing these dragon eyes to life.
