Year 6 Computing Spreadsheets

During this term, Year 6 has been learning about spreadsheets.

The children have been organising data into columns and rows to create their own dataset. They learned about the importance of formatting data to support calculations while also being introduced to formulas.

They learned how to apply formulas that include a range of cells and apply formulas to multiple cells by duplicating them. The children have used Sheets to create a budget for a family meal and to plan and organise a charity cake sale.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
