Forest School in Reception

We are so excited that we have Forest School sessions this term. The children enjoyed taking part this morning and exploring the wildlife area. They were able to look for creatures, play in the mud kitchen and develop their gross motor skills through climbing trees, the tree swing and hammock.

Forest school allows the children to access many areas of our Early Years Curriculum. They are developing their communication skills, observational skills, gross motor skills, social skills all while learning about our wonderful world.

"I found some bugs - some ants and slugs." - Aibel

"Uriah found a slug. The best bit is sitting in the hammock." - Mia

These sessions are a great opportunity for the children to put our learning powers into action. Showing reciprocity when working together to build dens, developing resourcefulness when choosing appropriate items for the task, resilience when they find a task hard and reflectiveness when we discuss what they have learned.

What a fantastic opportunity for our children!
