Year 6 Reconciliation

Today, we reflected on the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32). This lesson served as a spiritual and practical preparation for the Year 6 Reconciliation Mass tomorrow.



Prayer - Act of Sorrow 


Oh my God, I thank You for loving me, I am sorry for all my sins;

 for not loving others and not loving You. 

Help me to live like Jesus and not sin again.

Amen



Steps of Reconciliation:


  1. Examination of Conscience 

  2. Confession 

  3. Contrition

  4. Penance

  5. Absolution



  • To deepen students’ understanding of the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

  • To explore the themes of forgiveness and mercy in the Parable of the Prodigal Son.

  • To prepare students for active and meaningful participation in the Reconciliation Mass.

 We were so impressed with the costumes this year!  The children (and staff) made a brilliant effort and this also encourage lots of 'Book talk' throughout the day with children role playing as their character and discussing the stories they were from.  Well done all!
