Welcome Refugee art by Year 2

In today's liturgy Mrs Derbyshire explained about the importance of welcoming everyone. This is particularly pertinent during the next few days when we celebrate 'A Day of Welcome' on Friday. 

We watched an informative video about refugees and personal stories of people who have had to flee their homes. 





We reflected on how we might feel if we were in this situation.

Year 2 remembered that we had read a book called 'All are Welcome.' The video of the book being read can be found here.



We also expressed our ideas by making posters. Have a look!

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
