Year 6 Design and Technology Project: Water Theme Parks

Year 6 have took on an exciting Design and Technology challenge to create water theme parks using recycled materials. After researching real-life water parks, the children designed, built, and tested their own models using items like plastic bottles, cardboard, and tubing. The project encouraged teamwork, creativity, and problem-solving while promoting sustainability. The final designs were imaginative, functional, and a great showcase of the students' hard work and innovation.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
