Year 2 - Place Value (Maths)

We have been solidifying our understanding of place value in Year 2.

This has included using pictures, cubes, dienes. counters and digits to represent numbers. 

Year 2 have been amazing at counting in tens to make things easier and at justifying their ideas by explaining their working out.

We have played some games too to consolidate these concepts; a great opportunity to practise reciprocity, speaking and listening skill and patience! Well done!

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
