Service Week- Reception

One of our school values is service and this week is service week in school, so to demonstrate acts of service, Reception Class put their tidying and cleaning skills to the test as they went litter picking around the school. 

The children went out in groups armed with their litter pickers to find any rubbish after lunch time. Much to the children's delight, there wasn't too much to collect. 

We discussed the importance of carrying out acts of service to show our support and appreciation to the school and our planet and how it is important for us to be good members of society and follow God's rules of looking after things.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
