Year 4 Practicing addition and carrying

We've been learning how to add with exchanging over the past few days in Year 4. We started with simple addition without exchanging and have now moved on to sums that involve multiple exchanges. Everyone is improving, but we still need a bit more practice to really build our confidence. So yesterday, we played a Connect Four addition game to practise our addition skills in a fun and engaging way.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
