Hyde Hall - Y2 trip!
We've had a fantastic day exploring nature and art at Hyde Hall today! We had good weather which meant we could explore outside and appreciate all the autumnal colours!
The children participated with enthusiasm in lots of activities including:
- using magnifying glasses to explore things from nature,
- collecting fallen leaves and petals on a nature trail around the gardens,
- working collaboratively to create a nature mandala with their findings, inspired by artists such as Richard Shilling who use colours, patterns and spirals,
- making wax resist pictures
- using leaves, poppy heads and sticks to print onto clay,
- leaf rubbings,
- planting cress seeds...
What a fun day! Well done Year 2!
