Reception- Nativity small world

 This week, the children have loved consolidating and extending their learning through our continuous provision. The children used small world characters from the Nativity Story to act out the Birth of Jesus. We used lentils and porridge oats to make the desert and used sticks and houses as the stable and path for Mary and Joseph. Everyone loved the multi-sensory element and were able to show a good understanding of the Nativity Story through their play.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
