Dividing by 10 in Year 4

Today, we were looking at dividing by powers of 10. We thought about the relationship between multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. We took our whiteboards outside drew place value charts on the floor. We created numbers and multiplied and divided them by 10 and 100. We looked at how we weren't just adding and taking away 0s, but moving the numbers up and down the place value chart.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
