Live and Let Live!

We started our new IPC topic by discussing what we would be learning about this spring. We hope to build upon and deepen our prior knowledge of habitats whilst considering the impact of modern life on our environment.

We refined our sketching skills; first by practicing different types of shading and patterns to create texture, then applying this by exploring the forest area and sketching leaves, snowflakes, tree trunks and other natural sights!

‘I saw a squirrel! Heading towards that nest!’

‘These berries are red…but you cannot eat them.’

‘There might be bugs under this log.’

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
