Reception's trip to Blessed Sacrament Church

We have been excited about our trip to Blessed Sacrament Church for a while after it was rained off last term! The children were fantastically well behaved and did St Pius X proud.

We walked sensibly and all the children remained in high spirits. Once we arrived at the church, we were split into groups where both Father Paul and Claire took us around the church and told us all about some key things we could see.

This was a fantastic opportunity for the children to bring their RE learning to life, they have been learning about the Altar, font, pews and candles - all of which they saw today.

Father Paul also showed us his different vestments, the tabernacle and the statues in the church. The children had the opportunity to see the organ and ask Father Paul questions about the parish community. The children had a chance to reflect on their learning and use this learning power.

'We saw the Holy Water.' - Mia

'I got to look at the things in the church. Father Paul told me about them.' -Aibel

'I saw a statue of Joseph in the church.' Janae

Thank you to all those parents and family members who joined us for the trip this morning. We wouldn't be able to do this without you! We had a fantastic morning, well done Reception.
