Performance poetry in year 3!
This term, Year 3 have been exploring the wonderful world of poetry and what an exciting journey it’s been! Our young poets have been learning not just to read poems but to perform them with confidence, expression and creativity.
At the start of the topic, the children spent time listening to a range of poems; from funny tongue-twisters to thoughtful verses. Together, we discussed how poems are meant to be heard, not just read silently on a page. The class quickly noticed how rhythm, rhyme and repetition help poems come alive when spoken aloud.
It was fun performing as the rapping granny, I got to do some actions Brian
