Year 4 - Amateur archeologists

 This week, continuing on with our IPC topic we were comparing the two settlements of Skara Brea and Ur. We set up two 'archeological digs' in the hall, one for each city and laid out different evidence and artefacts. We became amateur archeoligst by commparing the two cities and thought about what the different artefacts could mean. We thought that Ur migth have city walls because they had enemies they might need to protect themselves from and that the people of Skara Brea may have used bone for their jewellery because they didn't have any other resources. 



After, we wrote up all the thngs we had discovered in our IPC books.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
