Reception- We've been to space!

 This week as part of our topic- Our Wonderful World, the children are learning all about space. We have transformed our role play area into a space station and Mrs Wiseman has very kindly made us a rocket! The children are loving exploring the new area and communicating with each other as astronauts. 

'We're coming into land'- Immanuel 

'Look it's the moon'- Ivy 

In the afternoon, we acted out our mission to space and started learning about the different planets. We had to put on our moon boots, oxygen pack, backpack and helmet and then travelled through space. When we landed on Mars, we had to use our telescope to look for Martians; when on Jupiter, we discovered it is a stormy planet and so had to whirl around pretending to be in a storm.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
