Year 3 erupt volcanoes!

 Year 3 finished their Island Life geography topic with an exciting exit point – erupting their own homemade volcanoes!

After learning about islands, volcanoes and how they shape the landscape, the children created model volcanoes and watched them erupt using a fizzy mixture. It was a fantastic, hands-on way to celebrate everything they had learnt.

Well done, Year 3, for ending the topic with such an explosive activity!

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
