Year 3 stop and read for world book week!

On Wednesday morning, Year 3 took part in a special Stop and Read session to celebrate World Book Week. For 20 minutes, everything paused as the classroom filled with the quiet excitement of children getting lost in their favourite stories.

Children brought in books from home and chose texts from our class library, settling down in cosy corners to enjoy uninterrupted reading time. There was a wonderful variety of books being explored.

It was fantastic to see such focus and enthusiasm, with everyone fully immersed in their stories. The session was a lovely reminder of how powerful and enjoyable reading can be and a perfect way to celebrate our love of books together.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.

 We were very impressed with the costumes this year!  Year 5 Year 6 Year 4 Year 3 Year 2 Year 1 Reception Assembly  Staff Staff A wonderful effort was made by all and we were particularly impressed with the home made costumes! Well done everyone!
