Year 6 read outside in the spring sunshine! World Book Week

To make the most of the beautiful spring weather and in celebration of World Book Week, we decided to take today’s reading session outdoors. Surrounded by the fresh air and sunshine, it was the perfect setting for diving into our latest chapter.





Today, we explored Chapter 16 (Goodnight Mr Tom), which sparked a lively discussion about language. The open-air environment seemed to inspire even more thoughtful insights and reflections from everyone, making our literary conversation richer and more engaging.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
