π Year 1 Trip to Maldon Promenade π
Tuesday was one of those magical school days the children will remember for a long time. Year 1 set off bright and early on the coach, full of excitement and chatter as we made our way to Maldon Promenade for our summer learning adventure.
π️ Sand, Smiles and Super Teamwork
As soon as we arrived, the children headed straight for the sand pit, where they spent a happy morning digging, shaping and building sandcastles with friends. It was wonderful to see so much teamwork — children sharing buckets, helping each other build walls and proudly showing off their creations.
π€ Sketching the Boats on the Estuary
Next, the children settled along the promenade to draw the boats travelling up the estuary. They looked carefully at the shapes, colours and sails, producing some beautifully detailed pictures. Their focus and observational skills were fantastic.
π Eye Spy Around the Promenade
We then played a lively game of Eye Spy, spotting everything from colourful beach huts to seagulls, flags, boats, and even the famous Maldon mudflats. The children loved exploring and noticing the world around them.
π΄☠️ Pirate Ship Playground Fun
A definite highlight was the pirate ship playground. The children climbed, balanced, slid and steered their imaginary ship across the seas. Lots of role‑play, lots of laughter, and lots of energy burned off.
π₯ͺ Lunch in the Park
We enjoyed a relaxed picnic lunch in the park, sitting together in the sunshine. The weather was absolutely lovely — warm, bright and perfect for a seaside day out.
π¦ A Sweet Ending Back at School
After returning to school on the coach, the children finished their day with a well‑earned ice cream. A perfect treat to round off a brilliant trip.
⭐ Behaviour to Be Proud Of
Every child represented the school beautifully. Their behaviour, kindness and enthusiasm were outstanding throughout the whole day. Staff were incredibly proud of them.
