What are the Mini Vinnies involved with at the moment?

The Mini Vinnies are very busy. We have weekly meetings and right now we are beginning St. Vincent De Paul's Lenten Campaign.



This year’s SVP Heart to Heart Lent campaign focuses on loneliness, a hidden issue that affects people of all ages, even in busy schools and communities. The message is simple and powerful: reach out and have a conversation.

Inspired by St Pier Giorgio Frassati, an SVP member who believed in friendship and lifting others verso l’alto (“to the heights”), the campaign shows how caring for others helps us grow too.

The Heart to Heart campaign will be a 5 week Lenten journey.  Each week we will explore stories of Jesus listening to and caring for those who felt lonely or forgotten.  We will be doing activities that build towards a final challenge where we have a 'heart to heart' conversation with someone in our community. 

We have started with Week 1 which is, 'Seeing others,'  we read the scripture, 'Jesus and the Samaritan Woman (John 4:7–14), After meeting Jesus, the woman shared the Good News. What small acts of kindness can we do this Lent to show Jesus’ love to others?

We wrote down on a 'waterdrop,' one kind thing we can do this Lent to make someone feel noticed. 

We will update our Lenten journey throughout this campaign.

Bawdsey Day 2

Today has been another action-packed day here at Bawdsey, with the children up bright and early, full of energy and excitement for what lay ahead. After a hearty hot breakfast to fuel the morning, the first activities kicked off: canoeing and Survivor (a fantastic session of den building and outdoor skills). The children embraced the challenge, showing great teamwork and creativity as they constructed their shelters and took to the water with enthusiasm. Following a tasty lunch, the afternoon brought even more thrills with the giant swing — a definite favourite! There were plenty of cheers (and a few nervous giggles) as each child took their turn. We rounded off the day’s activities with a problem-solving session, where teamwork, communication, and thinking outside the box were the keys to success.
